Colour

We hero white space in BT Group, letting our brands bring their colour to our world.

This white is supported by an impactful black, bringing a boldness to our designs.

Our colours

The BT Group brand colours are white and black which sit alongside the core colours from each of our brands.

We also have grey to help us break up content. This should be used sparingly, think long pages on the internet or long documents.

Colour balance

This is what our overall brand experience should feel like. A white canvas with black type and pops of colour from the pixels and imagery.

The amount of pixels and colour is flexible depending on the application but should always convey its monochromatic roots.

Using colour

Flexibility has been built into our brand, including when it comes to colour. When we’re talking about BT Group all our brands should be represented. We use a maximum of 8 colours, that could be 8 pixels or 7 pixels and one of our portrait images which use a brand coloured background.

The brand can also flex to reveal individual customer brand worlds. In these instances only use specific brand colours, like aqua and yellow for EE.

Talking about BT Group

When talking about BT Group we do not favour one brand. We should have a balanced use of brand colours.

Talking about a brand

When talking about a specific brand, we use portrait imagery and pixel colours of that brand.

Accessibility

We want our brand to be useable by everyone, increasing the accessiblity and usability of everything we do. This means there are some rules around which colours can be used together.

Combinations with white

These colours pass accessiblity with white. Our other colours can be used on white, but only for decorative things (like a pixel).

Flexing colour

When more complex content is created - i.e powerpoint templates, annual reviews, emails and events - we have the ability to dial down the whitespace through increasing the use of colour and BT Group black.

Please get sign off from the brand team when following this guidance.
